The Canton Men’s Track & Field Team finished in 9th place at the MITCA Team States Championship meet held Saturday May 25th at Lansing Waverly HS. The Team scored 667.50 points to finish ahead of Park Rival Salem who finished 10th.
The Chiefs were led by Evan Carter who finished 4th in the Pole Vault( 13’6″ ),4th in the Long Jump ( 20′ 4″ )and Ran the opening leg on the 10th place 40m Relay. Also leading the way was Caden Domzalski who finished 3rd in the Long Jump ( 20′ 7.75 ” ),7th in the 100m Dash,and ran anchor leg on the 6th place finishing 800m Relay..
Also scoring in the Long Jump was Jawuan Frazier with a jump of 18’9″ . Scoring in the 110m Hurdles were Donovan Kingf17th, Myles Huntley 18th , and George Frazier Jr. 26th. Faris also scored a 10th place finish in the High Jump.
Aditional scoring in the 100m dash were Matthew Warenell,and Jawuan Frazier. The 1600m Run was led by Joseph Michalak who finished 11th,followed by Gnanasai Vepa who finished 23rd.
Daniel Carr paced the way in the 400m run finishing 11th and the 3200m run finishing 7th. Other finishers in the 400mDash were Jared Lin( 19th ),and Austin Mathews finishing 23rd.
In the 300m Hurdles, Donovan King scored in 9th place, while Myles Huntley Finished 29th and Dylan Hayes finished 31st.
Henry Styron was the lone scorer in the 800m run finishing 21st.. In the 200m dash, Nathan Srivastava finished 19th ,followed by Yusuf Jafri 21st and Jared Lin 23rd.
In the Relay competition the Chiefs finished in 6th place in the 800m Relay,10th in the 400m Relay, and 8th in the 1600m Relay
