Congratulations to our winner for our "Chasing Greatness Daily" initiative, senior Avarie Spuller! Avarie was nominated by her softball coach, Sarah Street. Street states " Avarie is a true epitome of what it takes to be a good leader, she is the first on the field, last off and the loudest cheering on her teammates. Avarie is committed to play college softball at Northwood University next year, her talent is special. Avarie's bat anchors the top of our lineup and when she gets on base, which she often does, don't expect her to stay put, she pushes the defense to their limit with her great speed and smart baserunning skills. Avarie is not just an offensive threat, she makes defensive highlight reel plays regularly and makes them look easy. Avarie is never satisfied with her current level of play, she is always asking what she can do to get better, all while continuing to mentor the younger players and setting the standard for Canton softball. When reading the criteria for Chasing Greatness Daily, Avarie was the first that came to mind and everyone who sees how she plays and leads can definitively say that she deserves this special recognition".
