The Chiefs improved to 4-0 with a 24-35 victory over Wayne. Shane Andrews finished 1st overall at 17:33. Andrew Lake finished 3rd with a time of 18:16. Rounding out the scoring for Canton were Garrett Nagelhout (18:35), David Kight (18:53, and Daniel Jimenez (18:59).
The Chiefs next race at the Wayne County Championships on Saturday.

Meet Recap

The Canton girls placed 11th out of 12 schools with a team score of 392 at the KLAA Conference Tournament played at Salem Hills G.C. par 72. Brighton placed first with a score of 309 followed by Northville at 313.
Canton was led by senior tri-captain, Manasa Potluri with a 77. As a result of her fine play, Manasa was selected to the KLAA All-Conference team. Other Canton scores include: junior, Simi Neeluru 96, senior tri-captain, Ashley Kahanec 106, junior, Ava Song 113 and senior tri-captain, Molly Mundorf 117.
Canton will compete in the MHSAA Division I Regional on Thursday 10/12 at Lake Forest G.C. starting at 10:00am.

The Chiefs took 5th at the Hanson’s invitational on Saturday. Several Chiefs ran personal best times at a new course for this race.

Shane Andrews led the Canton runners with an impressive, season best 16:27. His time bested the previous Canton record at the Hanson’s race by 16 seconds. He was followed by Grant Hoffmeyer (16:44), Garrett Nagelhout (17:16), Daniel Jimenez (17:20), and Braden Heimbaugh (17:31).

Career best times were run by Daniel Jimenez, Braden Heimbaugh, Faris Adam (19:17), Carter Caris (19:47), Daniel Carr (18:06), Ben Devine (18:14), Josh Knoll (19:16), Drew LaBelle (17:45), Jacob Lasecki (20:36), Sean Majeske (19:40), Chatham McGuire (20:49), Joe Michalek (17:32), Rohit Navaneethan (23:55), Sam Pierson (21:42), Greg Sigler (18:40), Adam Styron (18:41), Gnanasai Vepa (18:29), Vincent Volpone (20:45), and Andy Wu (21:08).
