Chiefs News · Girls Basketball Advances to the District Championship

Girls basketball had an exciting win Wednesday night in the district semifinals against the Northville Mustangs to advance to the district championship game tonight at 7pm at Plymouth High School!

The game was evenly matched after the first quarter with both teams scoring 10pts. A good defensive effort from the Mustangs in the second held the Chiefs to their lowest scoring quarter of the game, going into halftime down 4pts. Another evenly matched third quarter had the Chiefs facing a 4pt deficit going into the last quarter of the game. The Chiefs knew their season was on the line and responded by going on a 13-0 run to gain a comfortable lead in the 4th, outscoring the Mustangs 17-5 in that quarter to seal the win!

Senior Noel Blain had a strong game for the Chiefs, leading all scorers with 18pts. She scored 11 of her 18 in the second half.

Freshman Maya Joiner had another strong game, adding 8pts and securing some huge rebounds for her team down the stretch.

Chiefs are back in action tonight to play for the district championship, trying to win the trophy for the first time in over 5 years. Go Chiefs!!!
