This past Friday was a great day for the Lady Chiefs. The team was finally able to achieve their longtime goals of qualifying and running at the MHSAA State Finals Meet. The weather was unseasonably warm but the day was perfect for running. The race was a culmination of months of hard work, lots of mileage, close meets and the uncertainty of even having a season at all. Seniors Asmita Tuladhar and Ari Ontko have been consistent throughout their years on the team and both girls close out their high school careers as first time State Qualifiers. Junior Thea Schley ran in her 3rd consecutive State Final while sophomore Cara Newman made her 2nd consecutive Final. Junior Ava Gatto, sophomore Sanya Ahmed and freshman Alexis Pickerel all ran as first time qualifiers. The young team gained valuable experience, which will surely be used in preparation for next year’s season. Go Chiefs.
