On Tuesday, Oct 1, 2019 Salem Rocks welcomed the Canton Chiefs to their Charles E. Olsen Natatorium.
The rivalry history between these two school is large, noting the last few season have gone the Chiefs way. This night was no different.

Canton started out with a Medley Relay swim by Zoe Langenderfer (SO), Elena Balow (JR), Madelyn Weber (SO), Sadie Miller (JR) for first place.

The 200 freestyle was won by Canton’s Natalie Tabar (FR), 3rd Paige Goderis (JR), 4th Bella Tabar (SR).

The Chiefs had a one-two-three finish in the 200 IM by Elena Balow, Zoe Langenderfer, Danielle Dulay (JR).

Canton came back in the 50 freestyle with a two-three-four finish by Madelyn Weber, Leah Kolb (JR), Kaylie Seifert (SR).

In diving the Chiefs placed first with Maddie Wingle (FR), fifth with Katie Hunt (SR), and 6th with Quinn Sena (SO).

Sadie Miller, Angie Yu (JR), and Bella Tabar finished two-three-four in the 100 butterfly.

Canton’s Madelyn Weber won the 100 freestyle with Jenna Caruso (SO) and Mallory Marsac (SR) placing third and fifth respectively.

Canton backed it up with a one-two-four finish in the 500 with Natalie Tabar, Paige Goderis, and Alexis Cuellar (JR).

Canton’s 200 freestyle relay of Zoe Langenderfer, Leah Kolb, Sadie Miller, Natalie Tabar had a season best 1:45.06, with their teammates Mallory Marsac, Kaylie Seifert, Bella Tabar, and Paige Goderis bring up third.

Canton continued to score well in the backstroke with Leah Kolb, Jenna Caruso, and Angie Yu for one-three-four.

The 100 breaststroke and 400 freestyle relay were exhibitioned by Canton to retain respect of the 100-81 score.

Great swims by both teams.

Both Canton and Salem will compete in the Wayne County Championships held at Grosse Pointe South HS on Friday, October 4th; 6pm start.
