Chiefs News · Canton Girls Track @ Mark Carpenter Invite

Hey Everyone,

Another really spectacular day on the track.  The weather was perfect today which led to a ton of PRs.  The 4×800 which was run by Thea Schley, Asmita T., Shannon R. and Anna N. , ran a time of 10:05 (unofficial), which was a 15 second improvement!  This ranks us second in the region behind Salem who ran a 9:58 today.  You got this ladies!  Thea ran a split of 2:27, which was a 2 second PR, followed by Asmita with a 4 second PR running a 2:34.  Shannon and Anna Finished with Season’s best of 2:32 and 2:31 respectively.
Next on the track was Nina P. and Selena V..  Selena had a huge PR in the 300H running a 55.13 (unofficial).  Nina who ran her first 300h race this season opened with a 55.54 (unofficial); Nina also 3 stepped between the first and second hurdle.  Since we’re focusing on technical progress, shoutout to Khamara Reed for listening about Drive phase (Accelerating while gradually rising out of the blocks), as well as, working her arms well today.  Also congrats to Najea Lucky for a major PR in the 400 running a time of 1:06.7 (unofficial ranking of 16th in the region).  Liv Perelli inched out a few more milliseconds, running 1:04.1 (unofficial ranking of 8th in the region).  Really glad we have at least 4 girls on our team that are close to 65s.  Cant wait to run a 4:20.00 in the 4×4! You can do it ladies!
On the field side, Morgan, Meemee and Maddie competed at the New Balance Invitational today at Farmington, and when I say they showed out, I mean it!  Morgan had a huge PR in the shot, throwing 36’11”, which is 13 inches further than her most recent PR.  She followed up on her improvement in disc with a throw of 111′, and then 114′!! a PR of close to 9 feet.  Meemee was able to implement full rotation today, throwing 89′, which was a PR of 11 feet!
Most importantly, good job to all of the consistencies.  I look forward to seeing what we continue to build together.
