On May 14th the Canton girl’s lacrosse team defeated Swartz Creek High School 11-4 while celebrating Senior Night. The victory moves their season record to 11-4 which is the most wins in the history of the program. Scoring was led by Katelyn Waligora with four goals and an assist, senior captain Caroline Currie scored three goals and two assists, senior captain Abby Sokol scored two goals and an assist, Veena Salih scored one goal and foreign exchange student, from Denmark, Julie Frandsen scored her first ever goal as a lacrosse player. Megan Flanigan won 13 of the 16 draws that she took and added four assists in the victory. Defensively the Canton girls picked up 28 ground balls and caused nine turnovers and Canton goalie Grace Coyne made three saves.
The next game is Wednesday May 16th at the Canton High School stadium against Brighton High School; start time is 7:30pm.
