Chiefs News · Canton Men’s Track &Field Team finishes 6th in the KLAA Conference Championships

The Canton Men’s Track & Field Team braved extremely inclement weather Friday to place 6th in the 14 team KLAA Conference Championships held Friday at the PCEP Varsity Track facility

Scoring second places were Evan Carter in the Pole Vault ( 12’6″ ), and Caden Domzalski in the Long Jump ( 19’10.75″ )

Third place finishes were recorded by James Deese in the Discus (145’8″ ), Evan Carter in the Long Jump ( 19’7.25″ ), and the 400m Relay Team of Caden Domzalski, Brandon Mehl, Sam Pennock, and Jawuan Frazier ( 45.33)

Fourth place finishes included  Chuck Carey in the Pole Vault (12’0″ ),and the 1600m Relay Team of Brandon Mehl, Dirk Thornhill,Donovan King, and Srikar Komanduri (3:36.10 )

Fifth place scoring were accomplished by Brandon Mehl in the 300m hurdles ( 42.20 ) and the  800m Relay Team of Sam Pennock,Caden Domzalski, Dirk Thornhill ,and Srikar Komanduri ( 1:32.8o)

Sixth place finishes were recorded by Alex Poe in the 800m run ( 2:02.28) Darius Robinson in the Shot Put ( 43’9.25″ ), and the 3200m Relay Team of Alex Poe, Daniel Carr, David Carr, and Grant Hoffmeyer ( 8:17.89) betering their previous season best by over seven seconds.

Srikar Komanduri finished seventh in the 400m dash ( 52.51) and Ian Wallman finished eighth in the Discus ( 125’5″) to round out the scoring.

The Team next competes in the MHSAA State Regional Tournament held Friday May 18th at the PCEP Varsity Track facility
