The Canton varsity baseball team concluded its conference play by adding an association championship to their accomplishments this season by defeating state ranked  Brighton 7-5.   It’s the Chiefs 3rd title in the 8 years of the of the KLAA playoffs (10,13,17). The Chiefs are 27-5 overall and are currently on an 18 game winning streak while only 2 wins away from breaking a school single season wins record (28).   They finished 16-2 in conference play winning the south division and beating state ranked Northville in the conference championship 2-1 Monday.   Senior captain catcher Justin Mattson, junior shortstop Andrew Krafft, junior firstbase Lou Baechler and senior rightfielder Justin Dolney  have led the charge offensively.   Tough pitching from Junior Seth Marano & seniors Tuner Donlin & Tyler Newsom had been impressive as well.  The Chiefs will begin the MHSAA tournament May 30th vs cross campus rival Salem at 4:00pm at the Salem baseball complex.
